Yes, the macerates contain 25% alcohol. However, at a rate of 5 to 10 drops per day, the amount actually consumed is very small: less than 0.15 ml of alcohol per day, i.e. the equivalent of a few mouthfuls of slightly fermented apple purée or a small piece of sourdough bread. The drops may be diluted in a little water.
From 3 years of age, at a rate of 1 drop per year of age; from 10 years of age, the adult dosage applies (5 to 10 drops per day). As the macerate contains 25% alcohol, seek the advice of a healthcare professional before giving it to a child, and dilute the drops in a little water.
