Monomethylsilanetriol is the only form of organic silicon listed in Annex II of Directive 2002/46/EC, where Regulation (EU) 2017/1203 added it; the two other silicon entries of that annex, silicic acid and silicon dioxide, are mineral.
An organosilicon compound, and not a silica: in monomethylsilanetriol, the silicon atom is bound to a carbon — which neither the mineral silicas nor the plant silica of horsetail or bamboo extracts have.
Minimal formula: only two ingredients, no preservatives, flavourings or excipients.
As an intensive course: 30 ml 3 times a day on an empty stomach or 15 minutes before the meal (let it act for 1 minute in the mouth).
As a maintenance and prevention course: 10 to 20 ml, 1 to 3 times a day on an empty stomach or 15 minutes before the meal (let it act for 1 minute in the mouth).
Keeps at room temperature. Keeps for 4 weeks after opening.

Food supplement. It is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet or a healthy lifestyle. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of young children.
For adults only. The European authorisation of this form of silicon covers the adult population: this product is intended neither for children nor for adolescents.
Do not exceed 90 ml a day, i.e. 10.35 mg of silicon — the maximum daily intake authorised for this form is 10.40 mg of silicon. The intensive course (30 ml three times a day) already reaches this ceiling: do not combine it with any other silicon intake.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: seek the advice of a healthcare professional before use.
Silicon is eliminated by the kidneys: in case of renal insufficiency, seek the advice of a doctor before use.
To be used within the 4 weeks following opening: the formula contains no preservative, which makes this deadline imperative.

Monomethylsilanetriol (MMST) is an organic form of silicon, of formula CH3-Si(OH)3. It is the only form of organic silicon listed in Annex II of Directive 2002/46/EC, which lists the substances that may be used in food supplements: Regulation (EU) 2017/1203 added it there in 2017. Its authorisation covers food supplements in liquid form intended for adults, without exceeding 10.40 mg of silicon per day.
